The Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Genetics Laboratory at GeneAidyx LLC is an international reference laboratory for alpha-1-antitrypsin level, phenotype, and genotype analysis. The Detection Laboratory’s sole focus, from inception in 1986, has been to provide convenient, accurate, and affordable genetic testing to aid in the diagnosis of alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (alpha-1). Through this program, testing is provided free of charge to patients and their healthcare providers. Over 500,000 patients have been tested through this program to date.

  • Grifols sponsors the Alpha-1 National Targeted Detection Program. AlphaKit™ tests and laboratory processing are provided with compliments of Grifols and may not be billed to patients or their health insurers. Healthcare professionals administer the AlphaKit test using a simple fingerstick. AlphaKit tests are available from Grifols and may be obtained here or by calling 1-800-562-7222.
